Wow!! Thank you so, so much @allenyang and the entire Bubble team! That is such awesome news, and I am beyond excited to start using the “Replace by another type” options for Events and Actions as well! Thank you all SO much again!!
@luke2 Awesome ideas, Luke! I also think the ability to show pixel distances when an element is moved would be a huge help, as well as the other two ideas you suggested! Will definitely add those to the original post!
Add a selector to choose where we want to place the currency symbol (€, $, £).
In Europe, the symbol is the last character. I.E: 100€
Actually we can’t select that using the currency formatter:
(I know it’s possible to just add static € at end of the string, but just wondering why isn’t added in bubble syntax. (Would be great also to have the option to add our custom currencies with their symbol)).
2-
Would be possible to set many states “in one workflow”?
Not always, but sometimes it’s needed to assign multiple custom states from input values to save the information in multiple groups before “doing something with those values”:
As a designer I would love to see some of the features we have in tools like Sketch to be integrated in Bubble.
As @tim12333 suggests, seeing some of the responsive settings within the UI builder would be great.
It would be awesome if we could pin elements to corners more easily, with controls similar to Sketch. Some of this is definitely possible in Bubble, but its a bit finicky to get it working right.
The above resizing options available in Sketch also allow to create (Reusable) Elements with dynamic widths, enabling elements (like buttons, tags) to have dynamic widths, or even align vertically. This really is a must-have in UI design, especially in more complicated app/software UI we often design in Bubble.
@luke2’s suggestion on changing the layout style of a Repeating Group based on conditions would be great. In addition to that, setting/changing things like Repeating Group padding/margins or the amount of columns (!!) based on conditions like screen width.
I really like the WYSIWYG easiness of the current UI builder. But, I haven’t been building much in Bubble lately mainly because I’m missing design features like these – making it really hard to build a good looking, responsive layout.
Copy workflow actions from a page/reusable event and paste to an API workflow event, and vice versa (more the former). A lot of times I’ll start by building a workflow on page, but then I’ll see an opportunity to optimize by using an API workflow, but as far as I know I cannot copy/paste an action from a page/reusable to an API workflow, thus requiring me to rebuild the flow in the other place. I realize that not all actions are compatible between the two, but many are! (e.g., Make changes to thing, send email)
Not quite in the editor but close enough: give us a bigger box to type in deployment notes—I can barely fit 4 words in that thing!
@yusaney1 Great ideas! I added your currency suggestions to #19!
@robbertmastebroek I would definitely find those useful as well! I added the “pin elements” and “dynamic element sizing” to #25 and #26. I also updated Luke’s repeating group suggestion (#24) so that it includes all appearance properties for a repeating group!
@edd 100% agree! I’ve definitely wanted to optimize page-level workflows by moving them from the page to an API workflow, but this requires completely rebuilding the workflow. Just added that, and the UX change for the deployment notes input to #27 and #28!
Thank you so much for the kind words, @jagdish_bajaj!! It’s my pleasure!
Hey Allen, Where is the option ‘replace by another type’ for the actions and events? I looked in the announcements category but couldn’t see any instructions.
That is amazing!! Thank you so much, @allenyang and the entire Bubble team (once again!) I can’t thank you all enough for considering these, and for implementing them so quickly!!
It would be really useful during development if when you select ‘disable workflow’ if a big X was drawn over the workflow trigger. Then you could see at a glance it was not enabled instead of having to click into it. Just making it a different color isn’t nearly as helpful to keeping your flow.
(I’m as embarrassed by this drawing as you might expect!)
@ryan16 I totally agree! That would make it much easier to see which workflows are disabled (and that’s a perfect drawing!!) I’ve included your idea as number 28!
Another more general suggestion for the editor redesign is to make it lighter weight (or have an option to run in lightweight mode) to conserve RAM. I’m running with 16GB of RAM, but it’s not enough. Frequent reloads of the page, and generally slow performance on pages with lots of elements.
@fayewatson not sure if this is requested, if not please add above.
When adding multiple languages to the app, if you have a big list of phrases in the app text, every time you add a new one you have to scroll down the entire list.
