I think “workload units” create perverse incentives.
Paying for “workload units” is exactly why the government is so bad at space travel compared to SpaceX. They pay for contracts and “work done” rather than only paying for the final product/launches. This incentivizes contractors to charge high prices and create delays, leading to bloated budgets and stalled progress.
There’s no point in Bubble optimizing its own backend if people will just pay for it, so it’s just going to regress over time.
Show raw stats because at least that’s something that the Bubble team can actually optimize for. This middle layer of abstraction is counterproductive for both Bubble’s engineers and its users.
