Hey Community!
I was wondering how fast Bubblers out there can build fully-fledged, working Bubble apps (yes, not just landing pages or non-functional dashboard UIs).
Bubble is all about speed and how quickly anyone can go to market with a full web app. I always feel things can be done much faster with Bubble, especially since the Bubble editor is no longer as slow as it used to be.
After building with Bubble for over four years, Iām taking on the challenge of building 8 Bubble apps in 30 days. Iāll gather ideas from around the web on what can be built and explore Bubble marketplace templates to see if anything can be improved or turned into a complete solution.
Iāll showcase my progress in this thread for every app. If anyone wants to join the challenge, feel free to!
See you soon with my first appāsend some power!

Am excited to see what you do!
Iām not at the level yet where I can build apps that quickā¦but it will be interesting to see what you or others can do.

@bubble.trouble Hey, nice build with Bolt! I built something similar today.
how do you handle errors or future features that donāt work as expected? Or even something as small as tweaking a border width or show and hide things with condition? In code, youād have to manually adjust it (which requires prior knowledge) or rely on AI to do it with detailed prompts.
The real advantage of Bubble and other no-code tools is how quickly you can make changesāoften in a fraction of the time. AI tools, on the other hand, often require detailed prompting every time, and iterating can be a pia when you need to remove or replace something. Thatās why I donāt think thereās a fair comparison between the two when it comes to build speed.
Iāve tried AI-assisted tools, but they always require precise instructions. If you miss something or need to tweak details, it becomes a back-and-forth hassle. AI is great as an assistant when building from scratch in an IDE (like Copilot or Roo Cline), but for rapid iteration, no-code wins hands down.
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to share your buildāit looks cool!
Peace
Cheers!

Day 2 :
App -
Restaurant POS - Orderix
progress & wrap-up :
Create customers
POS (search and view by category)
POS orders logs
Mode of payment, discount by percentage/fixed
Print receipt as PDF
POS operator panel
Dashboard analytics
Iāve thought of more features for the app, like table orders, a QR code menu for customers to scan and order, detailed sales reports, and offers. However, adding them to this sprint would mean delaying other apps, so Iāll implement them later if I have time left in this challenge.

@hi.luisacosta Ah, thatās great to hear, mate! Canāt wait to see what you come up with, keep at it!
thanks @senecadatabase means a lot!
hah, yes it used to take me long too, but once you get the workflow down, itās really just a 10-15 minute job since itās pretty much the same in every app (except the design part)

You simply re-prompt. This is no different than the way we handle errors in Bubble. If you write a bad workflow we figure out the issue by testing and go fix the workflow.
You donāt need prior knowledge any more than you need the knowledge to figure out whatās wrong with a workflow. You analyze the problem and explain it to the LLM.

If you spend 8 hours building something in Bubble that bolt can build in 1 hour, that gives you 7 hours to āiterateā before you have lost the build speed competition.

This might be true for other AI tools, but it is not true for bolt.
That being said, can you give me a list of the next 7 Apps we are building in this challenge?

Day 3 Update :
Today wasnāt a dev day, spent the entire day brainstorming ideas for next apps (shouldāve done this before starting the challenge
). looked through bubble marketplace and the web, aimed to find something unique that stands out from available options.
Since I donāt want to build only commercial apps, I also want to include some content-focused apps like a CMS. After filtering ideas for a while, I found two options for a blog app:
- Podcast Blog
- Pinterest-style Masonry Blog (supports images, videos, and text posts)
I decided to go with option 2! It feels like it could be useful for a wider audience, and honestly, I can already picture it turning into a beautiful app.
Inspiration for the design:
Single Gallery UI on Dribbble
Another Idea- HR Management App
Saw someone on X building an HR management app for a client on Bubble, which got me thinkingāit could be a solid project to build as well. Will decide after finishing this second app!
App 2 : Blog CMS
Progress So Far:
Design concept
Basic database schema for CMS (will expand as needed)

Not quite sure why you would compare an app built on Bolt to one built on Bubble.
I have a Bachelors degree in software engineering and have been working on apps for 10 years. Weāve all tried Bolt here where I work. It has some advantages, but also some disadvantages compared to Bubble.
I wonāt even go into the whole āendless loopā thing that is constantly talked about in their forumsā¦
but, I think Bubble has an advantage because it has a live editor where you can instantly make changes.
I still think once Bubble gets their AI part fully developed it will be the #1 go to for those with no coding experience to build an app.
Time will tell I guess.
Are there any Bolt apps that are live and have had investors invest millions yetā¦like a lot of Bubble apps? Would be interesting to know.
Anyway, your app was interesting but I wouldnāt call it noteworthy.
