In my app users can copy a link and send it to other people. That link then opens up to display a product. The link has URL and 1 parameter. Also, keep in mind that the app is not live yet.
The links work perfectly on desktop using Edge and Chrome. I just tried them on mobile with both IOS and Android and I get the same results: Page Not Found and a blank screen.
Do you have any idea what is going on? Thank you!
Hey @twowheelsanddeals, just tried opening the link in iPhone and it worked fine. Could it be something related to the cell connection, are you using the same wifi for both PC and phones?
@aestela Oh wow, interesting. I actually sent that link to a bunch of friends all with IOS and Android and we all got the same nonfunctioning results. That is great that it worked for you though. Thank you for trying it out!
@williamtisdale@aestela Thank you both for looking into this. Your results sparked something in my brain. In previous testing I had the PREVIEW page open on my PHONE and generated the links for testing. These were the links that were not working.
The links that you two tried were generated from the PREVEIW on DESKTOP then shared and transferred to phone. These links work.
So for some reason the links that the preview on mobile creates do not work but the links created via desktop do. I will not worry this until the app goes live and if the problem still is there.
Thank you both again. You really helped me out!
Thats interesting, unless you have a WF that sets a parameter “when device is mobile” that is breaking things up, have you compared both urls to see if there is any actual difference?
