Cannot enter date in Data / App Data / New Entry OR Edit Entry

  1. I have a Date Field defined in a Data Set.

When in Data / App Data / New Entry OR Edit Entry the field prompts for MM/DD/YYY HH:MM:SS and any attempt to enter the date in the field is shown whilst editing but is not recorded and saved.

Why is this happening?

  1. How can you format a Data Field of type Date so that it just accepts the date and not require the time component as well?

Can you explain why the HH:MM:SS additional data is causing an issue for you?

Same as when you have a date in Excel, the date includes MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS … but the front-end formats it to be user-defined, it allows you to save all the data but format it how you want. This is standard for dates

I’m curious if there may be another way to approach the problem after understanding your requirement?

Was this ever resolved, @Tony_nocode? I’m experiencing the same issue. Manual date entry in the App Data section doesn’t get persisted to the db. Is there a specific way Bubble requires it to be done?

Same issue here. It requires me to enter time in the new entry for a data type. How can I just enter the date and ignore the time part?

I think I’m running into the same issue here? I’m trying to type in my date but the field keeps getting cleared out. How do I manually set dates on my data items?
