Great decision. $25 is a steal
Obrigado
This is just greed, you are going to lose alot of users for just. I saw this comming a while back making more and more restrictions pressuringpeople to pay your very high subscription prices. I was early on bubble I can only say that im dissapointed.
I disagree with you, nothing is free in life… when Bubble offers the hobby plan that means they soak the costs in. How else are they going to pay their employees, pay for their server costs, etc? The subscription is pretty reasonable. $29/mo, not that bad…
not that bad if you earn in dollars. the whole world or even bubblers isnt america you know?
If Bubble is positioned as a product only it will limit its potential.
Bubble should strive to become the defacto visual programming language (just like any programming language) for non-coders so that the TAM is opened to the world audience. The fact that so many teachers & professors have already onboarded their students is a testimony to that fact. Please don’t limit the learning experience. People will convert once their product reach maturity.
Why clipped the wing of the Unicorn?
At least try to change the price positioning so that your MRR target is reached. 25 to 125 and so on is too steep. I am sure there could be many middle grounds that works for both the company as well as the clients based on use cases.

Totally agree. And I’m in Canada! For $29/mo becomes $360/year USD which is around $450CAD per year. I REALLY encourage the Bubble team to figure out a business model and pricing structure that isn’t stuck in NY/SV VC land where engineers make 200K/year. EVEN here in Vancouver, junior engineers make 90K CAD = 75K USD.
I’ve raised the issue of collaborators before. I’m building and have an assistant. We share a login. Now that this Free will be limited to 200 things, how about allowing 2 or 3 early builders to collaborate together. Paying hundreds of dollars to get collaboration at the build/prototype/MVP stage is just not viable.
Otherwise, as a SaaS founder, I totally get where you’re coming from and I support it.
If consider @Thiago proposal, they would realize that the scale gain would be fabulous. Remembering that in Brazil we are the second largest community of the bubble and just for reference, the minimum wage in Brazil is exactly $ 197.48.
That seems to be a fair move – really.
I started to learn bubble just a week ago and already upgraded, as I plan to launch my client’s project, and must say: have access to the API was a dealbreaker. If I haven’t had a chance to test my client’s own API calls against Bubble I would never pay that much just for a glance of Bubble could do.
And I feel like it’s important to mention that here, in Brazil, where I am, we face another problem: the currency exchange… as the american dollar goes higher we see the price in our currency scale as well. This is a limiting factor, as client’s sometimes don’t feel confortable paying a service in a foreign currency (specially US dollar).
Would it be possible to have a price in brazilian real (BRL)? That would be lovely, to have a fixed price for clients to pay, instead of the insecurity of exchange flotation. And it would be even better if the price tier was more friendly to brazilian pockets!
+1
While loops can be ‘workarounded’, it is really hard to build efficiently without them.
And i hope too the money would serve to speed up the platform, major problem for years.
I’m actually encouraged by this move. As someone with a production app with paying customers, I feel that I get an insane amount of value for my monthly subscription. I am encouraged to see Bubble doing what they need to do to stay healthy financially so that they can stay healthy in their infrastructure. It tells me they intend to stick around for the long run and that’s good because my business depends on it!
I support this, living in Argentina, 29 USD is a considerable amount of money (minimum salary here is about 200usd/month) .
There should be an option for extending the capabilities for the free plan like @B4B wrote above. Or more steps until the 29usd tier, something like:
- 5 usd : API access (there are a lot of cases where bubble is used as an external database/auth)
- 15 usd : ability to push live
- 30 usd: all features above + version revert
I understand the business model, but i feel that this approach leave some people outside their posibilities.
Hmmm. I understand the rationale, but if you are going to limit the free plan you should create an extra tier. The barrier to go live being the threshold between free and paid is an obvious and fair line to draw. But $25 / month is too much for people who just want to build a basic website / web app for themselves. You’re going to suppress conversion instead of encourage it. Most people would be fine paying $10/$15 per month for personal projects, but $300 + tax per year is too much for non-commercial projects. I think it’s a strategic mistake not to offer a tier that provides Wix / GoDaddy level capabilities.
Seems we replied the same thing simultaneously. You are right.
Correct. Fala verdade.
I think there should be a $5-10 / month per app, or the $29 should allow me to make multiple apps. Like many others here, I use bubble to create or test the functionality of an idea before bringing even close to the market. I would be willing to pay for that capability, but not 29/month/app.
