I want to flag something that doesn’t get nearly enough scrutiny in the Bubble ecosystem: how much weight Clutch ratings end up carrying, especially since Bubble surfaces them directly on agency profiles.
I’ll be upfront about my starting assumption. I figured Clutch must be a meaningful signal, largely because of how prominently Bubble uses it and references it when talking about agency quality. That’s what pushed me to actually look at the data.
What Clutch ratings really show
In the Bubble development category, there are 357 agencies with 10+ reviews. Out of all of those, only two are below roughly a 4.3 rating. Almost everything else sits between about 4.7 and 5.0, with a large number at a perfect 5.0. Even several pages into the results, it’s still wall-to-wall 5.0s.

I’ve also attached two screenshots showing the same thing visually: one from the top of the list, and one from page 3. The pattern doesn’t really change.
When the scores are all basically the same, the rating stops telling you much. It doesn’t separate strong outcomes from weak ones. In practice, it mostly shows who’s active on Clutch and good at collecting reviews.
Nearly all Gold agencies have a 5.0 Clutch rating. Anyone who’s been around Bubble knows that doesn’t match reality. Outcomes vary widely, but the ratings don’t show it.
Because Bubble displays those ratings so prominently, especially non-technical founders end up treating them as a shortcut for quality. They aren’t.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about a metric that doesn’t do the job people assume it does.
Bottom line: Clutch ratings have basically nothing to do with actual agency quality.
