Creating a group chat in a regular two person chat

Is there a way to create a group chat functionality?
If you remember last time you helped me out with the see message, and see conversation between two person. I so far have an app that can handle two person at a time messaging system but how do i create group chat functionality.
I tried it few times, but cannot wrap my head around this idea.

There is always 1 sender and a list of recipients.

See message should be a list. See conversation should be a list. Parties (the users in the convo/message) should be a list.

All of the same principals apply.
