Hi all,
I have noticed something and am trying to diagnose whether it will pose a massive issue or whether it is ok to go ahead how things currently are as it works well but may not be best practice…
I have created a Saas for a single organisation that organises shuttles to and from medical appointments for elderly, people with special needs etc.
I have two main user types, ‘volunteer drivers’ and ‘passengers’.
The drivers can access their trips via a driver portal. Hence I made them ‘users’ as they require email and password to log in.
However, the passengers do not need access and are only managed by admin. Thus when setting them up, though technically being a person, I had created them a custom data type called passenger with all necessary fields there including just a normal data field called email etc…
Can you forsee an issue with having +1000 passengers as a custom data type instead of being a ‘user’? Should all people be considered users or have I done it properly?
I am not experienced in database structuring hence would love some opinions from those who know what they are doing!
Hope this question makes sense. Thanks kindly
