Dropdown with Groups

Could anyone help with the categories in dropdown (smth like this https://github.com/primefaces/primeng/issues/5712 but dont need multiselect)

I could say that I almost figured out how to do that with the code included, but would like to know is there any kind of native (or plugin) functions for that?

Selectize allow you to set groups. Can be used for single dropdown
