Getting lots of autorun.run_once timeout and "Sorry we ran into a temporary bug" error

Have been getting 1-3 user complaints EVERY DAY about the Sorry we ran into a temporary bug error.

I decided to log the errors by using the workflow “When an unhandled error occurs”. It turns out there are literally HUNDREDS of autorun.run_once timeout errors logged daily.

Apparently the majority of these errors are not noticed by users (no idea why). However, SOME of them do get the “Sorry we ran into a temporary bug” popup.

I’ve probably read all the forum posts on this issue. I’ve also been in contact with support for the past month.

BUT still struggling to find out the cause.

The problem is that I cannot reproduce the error consistently.

Possible causes so far:

  • Some workflows are taking a long time (I’m trying to move them to the backend to see if it helps)
  • User switches browser tab (how to resolve this?)
  • Plugin error (how to check this when my workflows need the plugins?)

Any other possible causes?
How would you go about resolving this?

Any help or inputs will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Have you found any fix to this issue?
Happening the same here for some days and I couldn’t find the origin of this timeout

Getting this error when trying to upgrade to new responsive – maybe related?

Not my case, I’m using the new engine for some time already… It’s on live mode the error

It’s most likely a plugin causing the timeouts in live. Happened to me once and it was a plugin that caused it.

Debug and run a step by step then try to reproduce the timeout.

Not yet. One of the causes is due to the user switching tab while the workflow is still running.

BUT this doesn’t account for all cases, as it also happened when user didn’t switch tabs.
