Handling HTML-Encoded Characters in Backend Workflow (Need Help Formatting French Text)

Hi everyone,

I’m receiving titles for quotes (devis) via an API, and since the text is in French, it includes accented characters like é, è, à, etc. Unfortunately, these characters come through as HTML entities, for example:

  • éé
  • èè
  • àà

This makes the text hard to read, especially in user-facing interfaces. I’m trying to find a way to decode these HTML entities into readable text directly in a backend workflow.

I know I could potentially use the Toolbox plugin to run JavaScript on the client side, but since this is a backend workflow, I can’t use Toolbox here. I’m looking for a Bubble-native solution or perhaps a plugin that works server-side. Currently, I use find and replace, but I’m not sure if it’s the cleanest solution.

Does anyone have suggestions or best practices for handling this?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Try to display the text using an HTML element it would be suitable because it displays these characters correctly without a need for “find and replace”.

Toolbox’s “Server Script” action can’t run your script?
