How do I format the display of a geographic address ('City, Country')?

I’m working on a forum.

Can I display the user’s current location in the format of “City, Country”?

I’ve set up a field “Current location” which is a type of geographic address, but this displays the user’s full address including house number

How do I go about that?

Use the :extract option. You’ll need to extract each display item individually.
