How do you enable an ID attribute to a input box or any item

Currently i need to match an ID attribute of an input to help my search but there is no place to edit a ID attribute on the input settings. Can you please help!

I know it not always clear where this option is, here is how you find it:

Settings > General > Expose the option to add an ID attribute to HTML elements
