In App Purchases Timeline Update

Hi everyone, I’m excited to provide a timeline update for In App Purchases. We know how critical this feature is, so we wanted to make sure we had a high degree of confidence in the next timeline update.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, the mobile team has faced some unexpected setbacks and challenges that have impacted our timelines and priorities. We have since shifted some staffing internally to put more resources into developing and launching the In App Purchases feature.

Approach

At a high level, our approach is a direct connection with Apple and Google billing systems to ensure the best possible user experience. The integration will be native to the Bubble Editor, so after a few setup steps, adding In App Purchases to your app should feel natural and intuitive. Here is a demo (that we shared at Bubble Tour) of how IAP will work!

Timeline

The target launch date for supporting subscriptions on iOS and Android for all users is the beginning of February, 2026. We will follow up with a subsequent release that supports the other purchase types (one time purchases and content packs) in the early spring. Leading up to the release, we will be testing different parts of the experience with a small group of testers on a rolling basis starting in mid December. This will include the setup flow, connecting Apple and Google products to your Bubble app, and using the new workflow actions and operators to implement payment flows in your app.

If you would like to participate in live user testing, please sign up here by Wednesday, December 3 at 5pm EST.

Thank you again for your feedback and patience!

is subscribed to is really cool and will help simplify subscriptions for mobile!

Edit: Making Product ID dynamic would be a lot more convenient. I guess it’s not because it’s in the same category of Bubble-types like data types and option sets. If you have a pricing table/multiple plans you’re gonna need three separate actions/workflows when really it should just be one based on a repeating group.

AWESOME! I’ve spent the last two days building my subscription engine and stripe checkout on the web with hope that I could get it accepted by Apple. Launching our B2C app/Platform 12th of january. Had my MVP ready and was going to sign off the computer after 40 hours of building, and now.. I saw this post from you @nick.carroll

Anyhow, great news. Really looking forward for this. I’ll sign up for testing, would be awesome to have it up n running live ASAP so we can launch our new rocketship venture!

Just a few days ago I had predicted the first quarter under another post and I got it! I swear I didn’t know!

The native payment integration looks nice.

FWIW, as I understand, IAP is required for digital goods / in-app content; whereas Stripe can be used for physical goods and real-world services. And of course, Stripe fees are a fraction of the commission charged by Apple and Google. Just something to keep in mind when considering margins and payment processors.

Definitely hear you on this - it should be doable

Ya the “dynamic sort field” (change which field) in list filters is an example of another place in Bubble we can already specify a Bubble ‘type’ dynamically if it helps.

Why do you sound kind of like @boston85719

They must be a thoughtful individual :winking_face_with_tongue:

Amazing! Thank you @nick.carroll !

Do you have a timeline for offline data? @nick.carroll

That’s very kind of you @randomanon

@gabriel15 offline data is also a highly requested feature in the Mobile Beta. Bubble has mentioned it as part of their roadmap but havent given a specific timeline yet. Based on their current priorities, In App Purchases is coming in February 2026 and one-time purchases in early spring. Offline data might come after that, but I would recommend signing up for the beta testing program or following the Mobile Beta announcements closely for updates. You could also post this question separately in the Mobile Beta category to get more visibility from the Bubble team.

@nick.carroll Will there eventually be functionality that supports the following scenario:

A User has subscribed to a subscription within your app

The subscribed user will have items for sale (in my case, tickets to their event)

The subscribed user can sell these tickets to other users who have registered for their event.

So like a ticketmaster or EventBrite kind of situation where users setup their events and sell tickets to people and collect the money through Apple or Google.

This is IAP supported

I believe this wouldn’t be in-app purchases, this would be external e.g through Stripe Connect?
