Introducing Gatebase: API and MCP server for your Bubble app 🌐

Hi everyone,

Today I’m releasing Gatebase (gatebase.dev).

Gatebase turns your Bubble backend workflows into a world-class REST API and MCP server.

It also comes with its own MCP server, so your AI agent can set everything up for you, using Bubble’s MCP or Buildprint alongside it.

REST API

  • Clean URLs on your own domain: api.yourapp.com/v1/orders/{orderId}
  • HTTP method: GET, POST, PATCH and DELETE
  • Clean responses and standard errors, without the Bubble wrapper

MCP server

  • Claude, Cursor or any MCP client can use your app
  • Your users sign in with their account in your Bubble app
  • MCP Apps: interactive views the agent opens right in the chat

Access and operations

  • API keys per tenant and per user, with tenantId and userId sent by Gatebase
  • A management API to handle keys from a screen in your own app
  • Versions, Test and Live environments, request logs

One thing to keep in mind: Gatebase calls your workflows with the admin token, so privacy rules don’t apply. Each workflow must filter by tenantId and/or userId to stay safe.

It’s free up to 10,000 Live requests per month (your Bubble app needs a paid plan, since Bubble’s Free plan blocks API calls).
