Manipulation data without involving any Element

Hi guys,

I want my app’s data to be updated without involving any Elements or interaction with users.

How can I trigger such activities ? I want the database to be updated:

  • according a pre-set time.
    Or
  • manually by admin

Please point me to the right documentation that I should read .
