Messaging System, Privacy Setting

I have a messaging system.

It has Threads which include Messages.

Threads have 2 participants in the conversation that can create Messages.

How do I setup privacy settings to restrict access to anyone else that isn’t a Message creator?

I have tried: This Message Thread Participant is Current User but I get an error:

• Rules that use “This Messages’s X’s Y” can’t grant search access right now
