Mobile Editor: your best tips

Morning/afternoon/evening wherever you are around the globe :waving_hand:

The Mobile Editor was released a week ago now so I was wondering…

What are your best tips for other Mobile Editor users?

  • Things you wished you had known on day 1
  • Best way to recreate your web app as a mobile app
  • Best use of the new mobile-specific elements
  • Lessons learned from submitting apps to Apple and/or Google

Curious to hear from all the pros in the forum!

TIP #1
If you are new to the Native Mobile Editor, The very FIRST THING, Please the Read the Bubble manual on Native Mobile. This will save you hours of trying to figure out why something worked on Web and not working on Mobile.

My tips are for those making the transition of working in Bubble’s web app builder, and now working in Mobile:

  • Tip #1: Looking for a repeating group (RG)? Look at the Short List element.
  • Tip #2: Looking for Popups? Try the ‘Sheet’ element, which is the more mobile-friendly (and intuitive) version
  • Tip #3: There’s not really an easy cut+paste or conversion method from Web to Mobile, so be prepared to rebuild the front-end from scratch (of course still referencing any styles, fonts, etc)
  • TIp #4: Native Mobile is different and typically requires a different approach when building out each section - this is something I still struggle with but am coming around to. Think of your native apps on your phone, and how you interact with them, and it all starts to make a bit more sense. Pull up Spotify’s native app and break down how the elements are stacked / how the views work.

Happy Bubbling!

I found this thread which aggregates many helpful links to manuals and videos. I had trouble finding the official Bubble manual since it moved and searching wasnt quite finding the starting point.
