Multiple bugs on Android

I finally managed to publish my app to Google Play (iOS still stuck in building)

Unfortunately there are a string of bugs on Android:

  • Font colours and background not showing up correctly and inconsistently
  • Scroll depth issues - page scrolling half way and then not going further.
  • App crashes everytime I switch to one of my tabs using the native navigation

These are just appearing android. I’ve filed a bug report but wanted to know if anyone is seeing buggy behaviour on Android rather than iOS? It doesn’t feel ready for production…

There are definitely more bugs on android right now than ios, but we are working through the backlog. Because some react native libraries offer varied android support, it can be difficult to catch every permutation that might lead to bugs. Filing a bug report at this stage is the best way for us to make android more stable, so thank you for doing so!

the update screen is appearing for some users on android when there is no update available, and for other users the app on android crashes every time it tries to open

Thanks for the info Nick.

It definitely needs more work - having tested it for a week I’m not going to switch over from my BDK Native app which is the acid test.

The iPhone version is really slick. It’s worth adding the caveats about Android at launch so people aren’t too disappointed.

Yep the IOS experience is completely different to the android, until it is on par with ios I feel like this should be explained to developers.
