Native mobile editor issues & bugs

Hi forums,

I hope everyone is having fun poking around the native mobile editor BETA. I’ve found four issues that confused me until I watched the recording of the mobile editor launch. I’ve also discovered two bugs as well.

Issue #1:

There remains a (:plus: Install More) button at the end of Visual Elements, Input Forms and Containers sections:

Having not watched the livestream (but having read the official Quick Start Guide) I clicked the button and was brought to the standard plugin marketplace that we all know, which brings us to…

Issue # 2:

The platforms section of the marketplace filters contains two options: Mobile and Web:

At first glance, it seems that plugins checked Mobile should work on the mobile editor and Web plugins should work in the standard web app editor. In my opinion, Mobile should be renamed to Responsive and a third platform Native Mobile should be added.

Issue # 2.5:

Searching for plugins exclusively for the Mobile platform returns a list of plugins, none of which support the mobile editor:

Issue # 3:

Components section in the mobile editor prompts user to install plugins to use certain components, even though these plugins aren’t supported in the mobile editor. On another note, the List & feeds section is extremely confusing since none of these components use the new List elements.

BUG #1: Components containing Unsupported Elements

Users can drag and drop a component containing an unsupported mobile editor element (such as a Repeating Group) onto a mobile view:

Attempting to preview the page results in the following:

BUG #2: Copy and Pasting Unsupported Elements

Users can copy & paste unsupported elements, even plugin elements from other apps into the mobile editor:

Previewing the page results in the following:

These issues and bugs were discovered by skimming the surface of the new mobile editor. I’m sure there are more, but these seem like pretty easy things to fix that can save many new users a lot of time & headache if fixed quickly.

META DISCUSSION:

Mobile plugin editor ALPHA:

According to the keynote, the team is working on the following features in the next six months (seems like a really heavy lift for 6 months…) :

They stated that some users already have access to the ALPHA Mobile plugin editor. I haven’t found any page where I can request access to this alpha, so I assume it’s not public. I’m feeling a little disappointed about that. Before the V4 of the plugin editor came out, many plugin authors were contacted and asked to provide feedback before launch. I think it would be a great idea to get as many people to provide feedback on it since the original plugin editor released with many drawbacks, some of which have been fixed but many of which still haven’t been resolved (and which I’d prefer to avoid this time around).

Thank you everyone for reading,

I’ve sent a link of this forum post to the bubble bot, up to them to read it or not.

Have a great day building

Hi @fede.bubble ,
Maybe I’m missing something… In the Bubble forum, for some posts, the option to like :+1: is no longer available, like this one for example @jonah.deleseleuc

nope, you aren’t missing anything: the Mobile Beta category was configured to allow topics to be “upvoted” instead of likes during the closed beta to track relevance.
I have now updated the category to work like the rest of the forum :+1:
