Hi I am trying to build a web app for horse race predictions.
I want to create a horse racing prediction web app where users can register and login. After signing up, users will see a list of active races (fetched by api or manually added through bubble tables) . Clicking on a race will take them to a page displaying a list of horses and riders participating in that race, with a short description for each horse and rider.
Users can make predictions on whether a selected horse will:
Finish in 1st place, or
Finish in any position between 1st and 3rd.
Once the race is over, admins can update the race results, and the app should automatically calculate scores for all users based on the following rules:
3 points for predicting a horse will finish in 1st place and it does.
1 point for predicting a horse will finish in the top 3 but not in 1st place.
0 points for incorrect predictions.
The app should include the following features:
User Authentication: Users can sign up and log in using their email.
Race Management:
A list of active (pulled by api or manually added to a table).
Admins can add or update races and their results.
Prediction System:
Users can select horses and predict their position (1st or Top 3).
Predictions are stored in the database.
Leaderboard page:
Display users ranked by their total score.
If users are tied, prioritize by the number of exact matches (1st place predictions), then by prediction timestamp.
Random Winner for No Correct Predictions:
If no user predicts correctly, select a random user as the winner.
Responsive Design: The app should be mobile-friendly.
results page - viewable for everyone display nickname and score.
