Nice Plugin! Thanks!
@alex4 Hello, Alex! Could you help me please with my questions?
@resende.pp I’m in your exact same boat!
I just had a huge issue with a customer since they pay bonuses from performance and they extract the info from the charts and a couple of their advisors where bumped up by this bug!!
@alex4 could you please give this top priority?
Thank you very much!
Hi aestela,
If you create your own label you can fix this issue. After many trys I discovered the problem is probably on the label script. So if you create a custom label the data should be a correct data. I dont know why this rappend, but maybel there is a issue in decimals label print, and the label is printing a difference always the decimal number is greater than 0.5. So create a custom label and enjoy!
Hi,
I’m using the “Chart - Scatter/Point” chart to plot 7 different metrics overtime.
The chart works as expected when I run it with the debugger turned on. But when I log in as a standard user (i.e. without the debugger turned on) the chart will only plot series 1. Series 2-7 are added to the chart using the workflow function and these do not appear.
Seems strange as works fine with debugger mode turned on. Could you let me know how to fix this please?
Thanks @resende.pp the problem is, I have at least 20 different charts in all the app ![]()
I noticed my Scatter/Point charts no longer show up on my site too. I’ve made no changes in the past few weeks. Didn’t notice it until today but hadn’t checked in a few days.
I’m just having the same issue. I tried creating some new scatter/point charts and it didn’t fix the issue either.
Suspect there may be something within the plugin that change. Please see below for screenshots from the debugger if that helps @alex4 to help resolve the issue.
BTW many thanks for keeping contact and resolving so many issues in this thread Alex!
I’m having the same issue with Scatterplot charts in my app. No recent updates made on my end but the Scatterplots are no longer showing up in Dev or Production and I’m seeing the same type of error as outlined by @bowdo. I was running version 4.34.3 of the plugin when I noticed the issue. I tried upgrading to the latest version (4.38.13) to see if that would help, but it did not resolve the issue. @alex4 hopefully there is a quick fix you can make as this seems to be affecting a number of users’ production apps. I’m assuming this issue must have been created by a change to Bubble since the issue was introduced without any of us changing our version of the Charts plugin.
Update: it looks like the scatterplot chart on the main Chart JS demo page is still working, so perhaps this issue isn’t affecting everyone? In my case, the charts are embedded in a Popup element, so perhaps the issue is specific to scatterplots within Popups? @bowdo @dorian1 @djward1 can any of you confirm if your Scatterplot issues also only affect charts within Popup elements?
Update 2: it looks like there is a “scatter charts” detail page as part of the Chart JS documentation and none of the charts are showing up there. So this issue does seem to affect more than just Popup-embedded charts.
@alex4 Hello, Alex!
I have the following issues with scatter chart (the same as mentioned above):
Help please with that!
I have the same issue of the scatter chart not displaying. First noticed today, the chart was last seen two days ago.
No changes to dev or production. Scatter chart does not display in either.
Error displayed:
The plugin Chart JS - Charts and Graphs / element Chart - Scatter/Point threw the following error: @
@
This is the primary chart in my solution so having that not display is somewhat of an issue. Please help.
Hi @aanderson and @mikhireva.valeriia — thanks for making me aware of the scatter chart issue. It looks like because you did not make any upgrades to the plugin, this is probably a Bubble.io update.
I will investigate the cause of the issue. Please stay tuned.
Best,
Alex
Getting an error with scatter chart:
“run_debug.js:6 Bug in custom codeTypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘getContext’) at HTMLDocument.eval (PLUGIN_1553183744528x903111989944909800/Chart-JS—Charts-and-Graphs-update–Chart—Scatter/Point-.js:58:30)”
This is happening with a scatter chart that has being working for a while…
The same happens with a fresh scatter chart added to the page with no changes
Any ideas why?
Thanks in advace!
As mentioned by @alex4 the issue with broken scatter charts was likely the result of a code change in a recent Bubble release that is causing errors with the existing Charts JS code. I recommend that everyone experiencing issues therefore submit a bug report to the Bubble team so that the issue receives their prompt attention.

This issue is affecting my live app which makes extensive use of Scatter charts so I really hope this can be resolved today!
Hi @Kent @djward1 @dorian1 @bowdo @mikhireva.valeriia @aanderson @mayco
Hope you are all having a great start to your week. Thank you all for reporting the issue with scatter charts. As mentioned, this was caused by a Bubble update causing a new incompatibility with how I built the plugin.
I dove into the code for the scatter chart, and I have made an update that should now be compatible with the Bubble changes. Once you upgrade the plugin to v4.38.14 or greater, it should be fixed. Please let me know if you notice otherwise!
Best,
Alex
Thank you @alex4. I have updated and the scatter chart is back in view. Appreciate your attention and speedy update.
@alex4 Thanks for the quick action to release a new version. I’ve updated to v4.38.14 and this does bring back my Scatter charts when a page first loads. However, in my use case, I place charts in Popup elements and this seems to still have an issue:
The first time I open a popup, the scatter charts load properly. If I then close the popup and re-open it, all charts (not just scatter charts) disappear:
First time popup is opened:
Second time popup is opened:
Any tips on how to resolve this?
UPDATE:
It looks like the disappearance of all charts when a popup is open/closed/re-open might not be related to today’s fix for scatter charts. Prior to today I was running v4.34.3 of the plugin and playing around with different versions it looks like the disappearing charts behaviour outlined above was introduced with v4.38.0 (in other words, the behaviour was fine in v4.37.2 and issues arise if I use v4.38.0 or later). Anything I can do to help troubleshoot this as I’m not seeing any errors in debug mode or in the Google Chrome console.
Thank you, Alex! It works!
@aanderson and @mikhireva.valeriia you’re welcome. Don’t hesitate with any other requests!
@Kent thanks for letting me know. Are you on the new responsive engine? If not, you’ll need to upgrade to the latest responsive engine on your pages when using 4.38.0 or greater (this is another Bubble platform limitation). This is the response I got from the Bubble support team:
@alex4 I am not using the responsive engine in any way within my app. I was planning to wait until Bubble moved the responsive feature out of beta before converting any pages/elements. Is there a way for me to make sure I am not using the responsive engine anywhere?
In case you didn’t see my update to my previous post, here is some additional information about the disappearing charts issue I’m seeing:
