Hi, I am wondering how much it would cost to support a ~200 user CRM with Bubble with the new WU pricing structure. Does anyone have any estimates? Thanks.
Hi there, @danyalj2004… it would be very difficult (if not impossible) for anyone to answer your question because we don’t know what those users will be doing in your app, how often they will be doing whatever they do, and/or how you have built the app. That being said, you can use this resource to understand how much an activity costs in workload units, and if you can come up with a ballpark of how many units you might need per month, you can use the subscription planner to get an idea of how much it will cost.
Hope this helps.
Best…
Mike
Hi Mike, thank you for your reply! I haven’t started building on bubble, but plan to optimize. I don’t know how with what frequency or volume users will be using my app and have no way to gauge it. A 200 user CRM is the best way I can describe it. To be honest I am looking for a rough range as I have heard some outlandish numbers and don’t know how I can possibly make an estimate with the lack of examples. Are there any available case studies or anything I can use? To me not having built out the app, the workload figures aren’t very useful. How does Bubble expect people to spend months buildinng on the platform with zero gauge of how much it would cost to host? Can someone please shed some light.
For what it’s worth, I have an app that is cyclical in nature (it’s not a CRM, though), and coincidentally, somewhere between 200 and 250 users are going to beat the hell out of it during the next cycle. If I tried to compare my app to the level of activity I think a user of a CRM would reach in a given month, I think the activity per user in my app would be higher (if not significantly higher). That being said, I am estimating this next cycle will cost just north of $250 per month. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean a damn thing when it comes to your app and your potential costs, but it’s a data point, and maybe it helps a bit.
Thanks Mike, that data point is very insightful. If anyone else has any more I’m very curious.
As @mikeloc said, without you tell us what exactly your app will do and how do you expect your users interact with it, it will be impossible to predict the amount of WU it may cost you.
200 users using it daily or monthly? What kind of interaction they will do? How much data they will manipulate? Is it a SaS model? It is going to have API connections with other softwares? Chat? Will it receive calls via POST from other systems? How often? It will have recursive workflows running? How much? How often? Without details, it is impossible to know.
Hi @rpetribu, thanks for the reply. Lets use incomee as an example. Lets say its a SaaS with 200 users using the app on a daily basis and sending perhaps 3 invoices a day via Stripe API (600 invoices sent a day). Lets say that each month each user needs to add 20 clients and fill out 25 input boxes with a sentence each of information about each client’s information and their needs (Never more than 50 clients at a time). Lets also say they are booking two meetings every single day via a calendar and this is connected to Google Calendar’s API. Lets say 50 of the 200 users are part of a bigger team and each sending 3 messages a day to each other on the app via a built in messaging feature (~150 messages). What would you estimate that to be in terms of WU and dollars a month? If with each of the messages an email was sent to the user notifying them, would the WU be significantly different? (~150 emails sent a day via Bubble, SendGrid, or whatever the most efficient route is) Thanks!
I have a scheduling App That is used by 180 users/months. BUT (and this is important) they don’t use it in daily basis (as it is going to happen with your App). My App covers payments, subscriptions, whatsapp notifications, patient managing and so on… I have a staff of 10 people that also use this same App to manage the business approving subscriptions, managing the agenda, extracting reports and so on (they use the App on daily basis)…
We are consuming around 300k WU/month.
Depending on what you need, you can surely stay at Starter Plan ($32/month) and choose a Workload Tier 2 ($ 99/month). You will have 925k WU/month paying extra $0.14/k WU overage.
The next Workload Tier will cost you $ 299/month but it will gives your 2.5MM WU/month. I don’t think you will consume more then this…
But again. It is almost impossible to predict as it will also depend on how good and optimezed your App is. A very simple App with none optimization can consume much more WU then a giant App well developed.
