Redesigned property editor beta: Now available to everyone

Yep! The “(add)” only shows up when the new property editor is enabled. That’s why I mentioned the issue happens specifically there — in the legacy editor everything works fine, but in the new one it starts asking for extra info and adds that “(add)” label.

I noticed this as well and it happens from time to time, then turns blue eventually. Try refreshing the page and see if it registers. Definitely a bug as this should be instant.

Drag/Drop Group element is missing the “interactions” section. Most importantly I cannot access the ID Attribute in the new editor.

This is from the official Bubble “draggable elements” plugin. I’ve filed a bug report but sharing here. Forgive me for the class naming :sweat_smile:

Yes, that seems to be a bug, sometimes clicking away from the item or action, and clicking back on it solves the issue for me.

2 bugs found:
App Text: the option `Define another text’ is not prompted when you type something that is not in the database. Old property does this,
Buttons: Searching for an icon lag like crazy the editor, I’m using Safari and this is very annoying when trying to change icons.

@lindsay.esterman

9 years with Bubble, so I’m kind of used to the old editor.

I have to say this is a major win, I like it a lot and the transition was super smooth (was not a beta user).

A big congrats to the team!

Yes, the new editor is very slow. I like the changes, but not at the expense of it being so slow.

Deleting an element on the new editor causes visual fatigue and frustration. see screen recording

Yes they need an option to stop auto hiding the editor panel.

Yeah, it needs to show right handside, deleted element, with restore button, without collapsing

Bug: Border color not showing up as an option for conditional

@saviorabrams Click on the Border Style property (where it says “Solid”). The color is hidden in there.

It appears all field notes from plugins have been moved to the i icon and are only visible when hovering.

This makes it difficult when you need to read the docs to fill out the information.

It also is very compact compared to before where it stretched a bit. Would be nice to also have an > next to the i that you can do to expand the text

Revert action doesn’t always revert last change… For example deleting a field parameters in Backend WF will not bring it back.

Good morning,

I’ve noticed that with the new editor, if you’re using a custom plugin with a data type selector and then want to select a field of that data type—even if you set that dropdown to optional—Bubble won’t let you clear it if there’s an error. In the old version, it gave you the option of an empty field, which solved the problem.

Is this a bug? How can I resolved it without going back to the old editor?

Thanks

Can’t see operator for constraints when doing a search, it always cut the window. Tried resizing everything available but don’t work. I’m on safari
@lindsay.esterman

Try other browsers first.

@lindsay.esterman :police_car_light: HUGE ISSUE :police_car_light:

Turned on the new editor to try it out and use some of the new features that were mentioned today. I was working on one of my reusable elements which has a number of properties, and clicked on the - thinking that it would expand. Turns out that is the delete property. Not only does it not have a warning or confirmation, it CANNOT be undone from the undo button.

Which means all of my expressions were completely destroyed that referenced that. I had to roll back my app to get the attribute back.

Luckily I noticed what I clicked and didnt lose much but I could easily see this causing a lot of damage. So back to the old editor for now.

Faced the same issue. undone often doesn’t work in the new editor.

Thats encouraging! I really want to try to use the new editor but it seems every time I try I run into another MAJOR issue. The undo button is finicky enough in the old editor…
