Running as CMMS ? (Inventory management)

Hello ,

I would like to have an insight regarding my idea for my company . We are servicing/repairing a specific equipment . Our CMMS software is outdated, expansive and lack some feature that could make us more efficient .

Is it viable to make an app for managing a full inventory for example 5 technician ? (Receiving report of expanse/parts in / parts out each x days , technician adding new parts , exchange parts in their inventory etc ) . Work order is managed by another software mandatory by our corporation so it’s only for an inventory solution .

Is it something doable and reliable or I should keep sticking with a maintenance management system ?

Thanks .

Yes, absolutely.

Bubble is a very customisable app building platform and you can pretty much build any CMMS that substancial quantities of parts, large number of technicians and users and other features (such as connecting to other external services - if you need to).

You can check out Bubble’s App Gallery which launched very recently to see what’s already been built on Bubble. It’s not just CMMS, but marketplaces, apps, educational platforms, etc. That is all to say - a CMMS is definitely possible.

Hey @sdpilote Yes, building a custom inventory management app for your technicians is definitely possible and can be a reliable solution. Since your work orders are handled by another system, a standalone inventory app could be more cost-effective and flexible compared to a full CMMS.

With Bubble.io, you can create a system where technicians can track parts in and out, receive automated reports every few days, and get low-stock alerts. It would also allow them to update inventory on the go from their phones and integrate with other tools if needed. If your current CMMS is expensive and lacks important features, a custom app could help improve efficiency while giving you full control over how it works.

Let me know if you need help with building it. I’ve worked on similar projects before!
