Test List of URLs for 404

Hi everyone,

I want to regularly test URLs if the page is still live (and if not returning a 404). Has anyone done this before or has an idea how to do it?

Tons of free sites you can use for this, like dead link checker. Won’t work until you publish to live, as the default robots.txt file in /version-test blocks crawlers.

Ah, I don’t want to check my own page, but rather I want to automatically check (like every week) a list of other sides (like zappos product pages), if they are still live.

you can plug in any URL, doesn’t need to be a site you own

Ah nice! Do they have an API? I couldn’t find any information on this on their side…
