Track button click w Facebook Pixel / Google Tag Manager

Hello, I am having a very difficult time setting up FB Pixels and Tag Manager for events. I’ve gotten pageview to work (but not with page path so I cannot see actual full URL of traffic) and cannot for the life of me figure out how to trigger tracking of click on a button in Bubble.

I’ve got lots of different buttons on my site that I want to track for a variety of landing pages. Building the landing pages on Bubble will have been a waste of time if I can’t track these, so any help is very much appreciated!! @NigelG @fayewatson any ideas here by chance?

Thank you in advance!

You can create a plugin with a client side action and then trigger the pixel event.

@torusteens did you figure this out? I’m trying to do the same thing…not sure what to put in the custom plugin to make it work. Thanks!

@erick.mckesson - the easiest way is probably installing the “toolbox” plugin (if not already installed), and using a “run javascript” action, where you put in the event code

Thanks @Vlad! So, here’s where I’m at - I added this action to a button when clicked. I’ve tried a few variations (removed the part, etc.). Every time I try to test the activity in Facebook it isn’t reading it - though the Pixel Helper does recognize the button exists. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

Never mind, figured it out. Looks like toolbox doesn’t need any of the script tags, etc. image

Glad you figured it out!

Hi, did you figure this out? I am currently experiencing the same problem. I have a Google Analytics freelancer trying to create events for me with GTM, but we can’t figure out how to tag buttons. Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks!
