Hello all! So I as a data scientist and quant have always used dashboard building frameworks like Dash by Plotly, Shiny, etc. However, there are always limitations and thus I always wondered if there was a better way.
I have been a huge Bubble user and fan for years now and thought, instead of reinventing the wheel, why not use the Bubble framework to build a more customizable Microsoft BI but better. I bring you Dashboard Components the Plugin. I am thinking of releasing this to the public but was wondering if anyone would be interested first, how much they would pay for something like this, and what they would like to see. I have been using it privately testing it and adding things to it.
Right now I have the Plotly charting framework but want to keep adding more giving you the option of any framework (Highcharts, Plotly, ChartJS, etc). I also want to build in prebuilt blocks for dashboard blocks like the blocks displayed in the gif attached. I can even go further and try to do the same for Webflow (which I would like to do).
Let me know what you think and if anyone needs some dashboard/data science/data analytics needs, do not hesitate to reach out. I can build it with the framework or use any method preferred (Dash, Shiny, etc)!
I’d love to be able to get to the point of enabling end user self service reporting (think slice and dice, drag and drop) functionality without having to drop big $$$ on something like tableau or any other over the top BI tool. From what you’ve looked at so far, how much of that do you think could be achieved using native bubble?
Hey! Yes. I actually have two clients from my dev agency using it currently. Are you interested? Right now it’s just Plotly and I am adding plotly dash datable for excel like functionality (better then bubbles handsontable) and the next on the roadmap is Grid.JS. I’m thinking of just charging $3 a month for it for now to get it out there. What do you think? I’ll most likely move it to $5 a month forever once I add grid JS and add the ability to choose different charting libraries (Plotly, D3, ChartJS, etc).
Hey Brett! Could you be more descriptive? Right now, my alpha Dashboard Components allows you to build anything dashboard like in bubble for your end user. I believe what you are referring to is having user create there own charts with drag and drop for themselves. This is actually possible in Bubble (I have played around with it) but you have to know how to code.
I have built a mess around site that allows you to drag and drop and build your own site with a no code tool with the no code Bubble! I know it sounds crazy but it’s not. I used the Javascript library GrapesJS and worked fine.
If you want something like that built me and my dev agency may be able to help. Let me know!
This is super interesting. I think a great use case for my app (rental marketplace) here would be for admin users to be able to get quick insights into general user behavior. Here’s a little write up on the scope of my admin user functionality: Notion – The all-in-one workspace for your notes, tasks, wikis, and databases.
I see a lot of opportunity for this plugin to assist in some of these features (the “Details” sections specifically). Let me know what you think and if I could check it out!
@B4B That works! I think bubble plugin supports monthly and lifetime. I guess I’ll just do $3 monthly and $25 lifetime to start. Just want it in the hands of people. I’m hoping by the time I’m completely done with it (beyond ongoing maintenance) I can have all charting libraries and all major datable libraries with support for hover interactions (hover over this point show the data of that point and do this). Essentially the ability to build an entire dashboard with bubble simply.
@B4B Im gonna touch some things up from the alpha run and I will submit it to the Bubble plugin marketplace so you can just add it to your app from there. I will let you know when it is up!
