What do you see for the future of low-code development?

Bubble + Supabase + n8n

Bubble alone

Or

Traditional code with vibe coding?

I’m curious to know what you think.

Because the truth is that each approach has its place.

But the market is changing fast.

And those who don’t adapt fall behind.

Which of these would you bet on for the next 2 years?

Low code: Bubble is still a good bet.
Though they need to do more marketing. It thrives through word of mouth cause it’s great, but a competitor with a hefty marketing budget and aggressive campaigns can trip Bubble easy.

Any tool & stack used correctly can produce results.
The ones who will truly fall behind are the developers who build businesses on hyped up platforms without doing enough business continuity planning. These are silly minded folks that still think a hyped MVP on a trending tool will get them the investments they need to build a sustainable business. That era is dying.

What any founder should be paying attention to are the rapid changes in investment trends. You can build anything eventually with enough capital. No-code, low-code or full-code.

For me, Bubble is not a low code but a real no-code. For sure, for some advanced features, you may need to use code, but Bubble is more on the nocode side.

Low code, nocode, traditionnal and AI assisted coding can continue to exist for a long time again. They all have different market…

In 12-24 you will see platforms that have build sophisticated structures with the help of AI to deliver much more than Bubble will be able to do and in less time without knowing code. For simple websites most will eventually be delivered on the fly. So a user hits the server and in milliseconds AI will analyse the user persona and other context and delivers the ui/ux plus text the user probably needs.

it will take time before this will be standard procedure though. People live in vision tunnels. They see it from their perspective. You also see it on this forum where people have very opinionated stance on ai and vibe coding while you can see from their reasoning that they have not the experience of using ai and vibe coding for years in real world situation. People like to have the feeling that they know it all so they stick at what they know. And defend it.

so technically we will be there in a year or so. But adoption might take another 5 years.

most dangerous believe is that people overestimate their intelligence and quality. Everyone working with ai every single day knows that lots of people don’t stand a chance already when they need to compete with ai. Lots of people have little general knowledge, make mistakes all the time and make no decisions, take too long to make them, wrong decisions or a combination of these issues. Lots of people will be hit by surprise within a few years. Not a pleasant idea…
