I’m building an up; app not live yet. I set up privacy rules for all my user roles; however, workflows won’t work well, specially for searches, unless I give the “Everyone Else” section access to see and read. The fields show blank in the app data tables, unless "Everyone Else has access to see and read. Why? Do I have to be signed up as the admin that has access to it all in privacy rules? How about when testing other users?
Obviously. Run your app as a user with the appropriate permissions.
I think you didn’t understand how privacy rules works.
Can you be more specific and share some images of your privacy rules configuration?
If your current privacy rules are blocking data from being found where it needs to be found then, obviously, your privacy rules are wrong…
It’s a bit hard to help without seeing your current privacy rules and data requirements, so feel free to share more info…
Thank you guys. I guess I should leave the “Everyone Else” set to view and read while I’m building the app, unless I would sign as a user to run and test the User interface and then log out and log in as an admin to see the data. These are the data types:
You also don’t need to use the “everyone else” privacies while building.
Providing you have created a user for each user role, you can go to your “user” table in “app data” and click “run as” on whatever type of user you wish to preview the app as.
Thank you. This definitely will do it. I’m sorry for the basic questions, but I’m pretty new.
