WU Optimization from over 6 million WUs to less than 100k

I still believe the future for tools like Bubble is to give developers the option to generate code for both the front end and back end, with the ability to extract this code outside of the platform and deploy it independently. Of course, this option would come with higher pricing than standard use, but it would attract many new businesses to Bubble. I believe that soon a new company will offer this in the market.

Are you suggesting Bubble should charge users a fee based on earnings generated from a Bubble app?

What? Thatā€™s nuts.

Itā€™s not about being ā€œfairā€ to Bubble. Itā€™s about having realistic expectations on the kind of expenses that the alternative costs.

Prior to WU, there were a bunch of people who came into Bubble because they saw how ridiculously cheap it was to build and run an app. Literally nothing else could give you this much flexibility for peanuts then. Even I was shocked at my margins.

Nothing wrong with taking advantage of a good deal but if something is too good to be true then it probably is. Costs would have definitely crept up to Bubble eventually, no matter how you look at it. Those costs needed to be passed to the majority of their users since they are the ones eating up most of the resources.

It was a no brainer of what was coming next, back then: Some sort of usage based pricing and alas WU. The alternative was pricing based off data storage yikes.

Even with WU, right off the bat Bubble already offers great value compared to what the alternatives can cost. Iā€™m a solo dev churning out apps like water, while holding a full time job, able to have spare time for my family and myself, making great margins thanks to Bubble. Yet Iā€™m not gonna pretend like there isnā€™t a harsher reality out there. One with multiple overheads, requiring additional manpower and time. All that also includes an exhausting amount of administrative work.

The cost is 0 as itā€™s done on the client side, all you have is the page load basically.

Does that mean, that there is no difference between api calls and api calls directly made from the users browser in view of wus?
