After outage, shoud Cloudflare be optional on Bubble?

Yesterday, Cloudflare went down worldwide, taking down a considerably part of the internet with it. It didn’t last too long, only 25 minutes at most. But due to this issue, I was wondering if the usage of Cloudflare on your Bubble apps should be optional in the future, or should be keep just as it is right now. What does the community thinks about this?

Hi.

I have used Bubble before cloudflare. It was considerably slower.

Many sites use cloudflare for that reason .

Because of one outage I would not be worried. Sh`t happens.

Two and I might be worried.

Three. I might change my opinion.

I hypothesis they made it non optional to make it easier for users to setup their sites. Indeed this was a BIG ISSUE on a DAILY basis (not like outages) which has resulted in a more user-friendly launching of your domain via bubble.

Therefore I think the benefits so far outweigh the disadvantages.

Third outage this year at the moment.

Time to get off Cloudflare ?

I think Bubble in general is off Cloudflare, not sure, but I don’t think they can make it an “Opted-Out” thing.

Wasn’t the issue a tier 3 provider that cloudflare uses called centurylink? Xbox and PlayStation were down as well.

Yeah I heard about that Cloudflare issue with Centurylink the ISP, but I wasn’t affected :man_shrugging:

True, but there is due diligence here.
