Announcing new rules and guidelines

Hello everyone

Fede from the Community team here. I got something for everyone today that might not be the most exciting but I think it’s just as important. Today we are rolling out an updated set of rules and guidelines for the Bubble Forum community. You can find them here: Guidelines

Why the change?

Up until now, our forum community has been operating under very generic guidelines like “be civilized” and “report problems when you see them.” These are a great foundation for any online community to adopt, but one-size-fits-all also means it exposes our community to problems that are specific to us and are not covered by the old guidelines.

Nothing major. The new rules don’t significantly change any aspect of how this community has been operating up until today. Asking questions, helping users, sharing useful resources, showcasing your projects, discussing Bubble features and product releases, etc. is all still welcomed, encouraged, and appreciated in this community. The new rules and guidelines allow us to better communicate member expectations and streamlines content moderation with precise, clear language.

Thanks for being part of the Bubble community.

Interesting final point:

" Do not publish low-effort posts that belittle, devalue, or otherwise disparage Bubble or its users without argument or reason."

So, put in a lot of effort and have good reason

Correct. I didn’t want the rule to prevent users from justly criticizing Bubble when something goes wrong or when a feature falls below expectations. At the same time, nobody benefits from “lol bubble is garbage, quit while you can” type of posts

That may be (that no one benefits from such posts) but censoring them, especially given such vague criteria, is really really silly and hurts Bubble…

I disagree. I hate those posts. If you cant make a effort, just use twitter.

if your criticism doesn’t even have any passion behind it, then what’s the point?
