Searching and finding topics in the forum

Hello , just read first 2-3 sentence in guidelines , my opinion is that it is really really hard to find specific topic in my needs , forum needs ai or better searching.

+1. for starters a advanced need help section would be helpful.

There needs to be some easier way to view the created date (really just year). For example, the image below, #1 has activity more recently than July Monthly Update (and less views / replies) so it seems like its a more recent post than the July Update when in fact its 6 years older.
At the very least, feature and plugin announcements should have those brackets replaced after 2 months with the year instead (e.g., “[2018] Ability to pause the scheduler” instead of “[New Feature] Ability to pause the scheduler”)

Yup, this will be my most sought after change. I find it quite annoying especially when a new feature realesed in 1960  comes as the first item in 2024. Thank you.

but that’s because a surprising amount of people post on dead old topics. announcements is also probably a special category where the topic is not automatically locked after inactivity

Yes , + first solved ones can be good , I found myself looking for a post where there is 1 comment that describes my problem but it is closed , and with 0 comments . So , Better search , better sorting ( date , solved or not , number of comments ) is needed . Better search can be done via keywords but I wan’t to search like for ex : ’ I need to change the email of a user but I will do verifications my self but password is required for that’ and points me to the most updated , solved or mostly commented ones.

how about old school search on the official documentation:

reference page

the forum is not developed by bubble so I think it is unlikely new custom searches are going to happen.

@fede.bubble the manual used to have anchor tags for easy sharing specific sections here on the forum (I could click the title of a section and the url would update the hash), but it seems like it’s not like that anymore :frowning:

That was an example , here is an another example ’ I have setup an api workflow and return some values , which are bubble database types , but there seems to be error’ , I have gone over 15 forum posts for the simplest answer . Bubble docs is incomparable to forum btw .

I have read tons of Bubble Forum posts. Tons and tons and tons and…you get the idea. There are a lot of smart Bubblers with a lot of experience that help a lot.

The best AI tool I’ve found that helps is perplexity.ai.

You can ask it a question and not only does it research the question but it gives you the links to the answers it comes up with.

Just a little tip.

I love perplexity. It’s by far the best use of AI for me.

I think it’s great…the free edition is great also.

Yeah search is kinda bad. Here’s me searching for the literal exact name of a post I made a while back - it doesn’t come up at all in the top results despite being an exact match for the title!

What is happening , I posted is as a comment to another post, it became a whole topic

Mod probably split it into another thread because it would allow it to be discussed better in its own thread

Yeah super annoying that there is no log in this post that topic has been split etc and a notification to the replier. Makes you feel like you’re hallucinating
