Apps sent to the Stores for review! šŸ˜

I know maybe it doesn’t have much to do with the forum. But I wanted to share this good news with you… I was finally able to solve some problems that prevented me from proceeding and I finally sent my apps for review!

I make myself available to share this experience with you, because I know that with Google Play and Apple Store there is no documentation that can support us.

In the meantime, I have some warnings that I can advise you (unfortunately I had to thoroughly study the documentation of the Stores to speed up the publication and avoid as much waste as possible):

  • Links to privacy policies (I operate in Europe, for us it is fundamental) cannot be links to pdf files, but both stores require links to public sites that can be consulted from anywhere on the web;

  • Specify any login instructions step by step. Among other things, Apple requires that Login with Apple is also entered if access via Oauth with google is provided (in my case I should be safe, since the use of the app is only for my organization, there is no possibility to register. We are the ones who create the users for our customers).

I’ll give you more updates as soon as I have news. Thanks to all of you for your support and especially to Bubble who made all this possible. I never thought I would create such a complicated app for both the Web and Mobile versions! And thanks also to @nick.carroll who in this period I think is very busy with the management of all this!

Cross your fingers for me!

UPDATE:

Apple rejected the app. The reasons are two:

  • two-factor authentication for my account, so they couldn’t access the app;

  • he asked me to make the app unpublic, as it is reserved only for my organization.

I removed access to two factors and sent the app back for approval. I haven’t received any feedback from Google Play yet.

Good luck!!! This is super exciting, let us know when it is approved! The Google Play Store review can take up to a week, its annoying.

Unfortunately they also refused due to an access problem… they will have tried when there was still the double factor…

I have postponed and I will update you!

I don’t have an Android phone… so I didn’t test it… I trusted what happened in Apple’s Test Flight and none of the problems you mentioned here happen… I’ll try with an android phone, and I’ll let you know. In the meantime, has anyone had problems of this kind? @Nick.carroll what can I do?

Apple has just approved my app! If I hadn’t entered the wrong credentials, they would have approved it in less than 6 hours… all this is fantastic!!

You can use the Android simulator from Android Studio on your laptop to see how your app functions on an Android device. You’ll just need to upload the build file and it should work!

I’ve already tried but unfortunately it doesn’t work… refer to the Play Store to download a version from there… it seems that the Manifest file has this as the default setting. I’m quickly getting an android phone to try with Bubble Go. I’ll update you shortly…

Where can we get the build file? I think since bubblego isnt working for most android users, would you guys be able to put this in the docs? Id love to see if the apps working on android.

You can find this in the documentation, under the publication heading.

Just to update you here. After various vicissitudes I managed to install the app on the emulator as internal tests. In fact, in the code of the app it refers to the Store to install the app and I didn’t feel like decoding and recompiling the files… Once installed honestly I don’t see what Google says in this email. The app behaves exactly like on Apple’s Test Flight (of course, with some adaptation for android). The only thing I notice is some problems in the Tab Bar icons… when you click on it and move between the tabs, you see what I attach on the screen. To be clear, I have a conditional that when the tab is visible the icon turns white. In addition, there are no writings under the icon… I don’t know if this is the emulator or a code defect in Android. Let me know what you think @nick.carroll

UPDATE:

I wrote to the Google Play developer assistance and support including some screens. Specifying that the reviewer’s response had been unclear. I asked for screenshots or screen recordings that demonstrated the problem and on which device it was tested with which version of android. In addition, I have attached screen recordings and screenshots to my request.

They approved the app a few minutes ago.

Ah ok, so you add a release in Google Play, and then reference that release on your emulator. Makes sense!

As for the tab bar issues, we are away of strange tab bar behavior on android, as well as some issues with colors changing conditionally

Congrats on getting into the Play store!
