Background colour transition

Hi, so I am trying to switch between background colours based on page state.

Its working perfect so far but Im struggling to figure out how to actually transition that property.

This is how i’m getting the background colour from a custom state (where objective colour is my custom state):

And here is how I’m trying to transition the BG colour:

But what ever “background style - backdrop” is, it isn’t the background colour and I cant find background colour in there.

Any one have any ideas?

It seems that there is not possible to apply a transition there.

A workaround would be using a group that takes all the space of the page:
