Backup and starter plan?

Hi there.
I am still beginner here so I need to get ideas clearer.
With a Starter Plan, do I get a backup and how does it work ?
I have a Live version of my website and a Development version, ok.
Is there a backup for each one?
Does the backup means Data, Options Set and Design ?
Is all that seperate backups ? one for Data, one for Pages ?
So I can restore only Data, or only Workflow, or only Design ?

So let’s imagine I Deploy my Development version to Live and I discover new problems.
How could I go back ? onyl Data ? and how can I do that ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello @patlamenace,

You can roll your app back to any point in time you want. You can restore both the development and the live database. My recommendation is to create a savepoint with a semantic name after completing each feature development. This way, if you encounter any issues, you can roll back to that specific savepoint.

Additionally, whenever you deploy your app, Bubble automatically creates a savepoint for you.

Starter plan allows you to back up and restore your app for up to the last 2 days.

Yeah, I was confused at first too. Normally, backup covers data + settings + design in one bundle. You can’t always restore just one part unless the platform lets you pick. Curious what others here do for Dev → Live mishaps.

Bubble’s backup and restore system works at two distinct levels: the application version (your design, workflows, and logic) and the database (your data). They are not granular. You cannot restore just one page or one workflow.

Application Backups: Bubble automatically saves your entire application state every few minutes and also creates a named version every time you deploy to Live. These are snapshots of your design, workflows, option sets, etc.

Database Backups:Your Live database is backed up automatically. The retention period depends on your plan (Starter plans have a shorter window than higher tiers). The Development database is for testing and does not have the same automated backup/restore functionality as the Live database.

Restoring is All or Nothing: When you restore, you restore the entire application version or the entire database to a specific point in time.

You cannot mix and match.

Thank you all for your help !

So I can only restore my app for up to the last 2 days.
But I have also backup available for the last Deploy(s ?), right ?

However I can create a savepoint at any time ? completely different than last 2 days or Deploy ?

Yes, Dependign on you plan it for Point-in-time, by typing date and time, and even if you plan allow 2 days and you restore more then 2 days old it wont
