I can really see the use of bubble to link to blockchains simply and quickly.
And Ethereum looks like it has advantages.
But as I said, I struggle to motivate myself enough to learn a new language just to implement a Smart Contract.

@Emmanuel has there been any update on integrating Ethereum or Bitcoin into Bubbleās framework?
Kierandaly88,
Do you have a use case yet or are you an aspirin searching for a headache?
I think the complexity involved at this stage, it is probably not a simple thing to integrate. Yes, you could probably integrate some other companies API for payments/transactions and blockchain lookup for Bitcoin, but Ethereum is a completely different animal.
Hence the reason to ask the use case, because that would determine what and how you would want to try and integrate. I donāt think writing/testing and pushing smart contracts up onto the blockchain is feasible on Bubble. Consumption of smart contracts is possibly doable with some APIs, but think would take a lot of head scratching to get going.
I have been looking at quite a lot of presentations by Vitalik this last week, and must say the grey matter shut down a few timesā¦
Coinbase do have a developer page, for working with Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum wallets, so you could use their API to build out your own plugin for those features.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for reaching out. Iām a non-technical entrepreneur so wouldnāt be able to develop an API.
Iāve come across a few things youāve posted in the forums before and theyāve been really helpful for example your recurring event generator with the calendar plugin. Iām currently integrating this into a marketplace app which allows students to book classes with tutors.
Anyway back to Ethereum, the reason why Iām interested in using this is Iād like to develop and an app which allows for secure digital voting using blockchain technology. By using the blockchain for voting, you could make voter fraud and rigged elections a thing of the past. It would be great if I could I could develop some sort of minimum viable product using bubble as a starting point.
What do you think?
Regards,
Kieran
I have been interested in validation through the block chain of learningā¦almost like a decentralized accreditation of sorts where everyone going to school gets a personalized education and the learning is validated through tokens. This way, companies can build out and trust a larger network of educators and opportunities rather than just the traditional institutional degree.
With voting, I see a lot of promise, as a decentralized system would distribute authority to all on the network⦠it would also allow for more accurate and timely assessment of results as well as data.

You might want to start here then;
After watching to the video below I realize the blockchain technology is the next big thing. Ethereum, the altcoin, is just one application of it: you can create smart contracts, sell digital media, create voting systems etc all without the need for a central organization. It means freedom from banks and all big corporations, similar how the internet brought freedom to every person to talk, work, transfer files without borders, with low to no cost.
I think the ability to release new tokens and others blockchain capabilities built in Bubble will increase exponentially its value.
If it was possible to build in a wallet for ethereum erc20 tokens into bubble it would have amazing possibilities. Blockchain integration into bubble would enable us to build decentralized apps
