Any time I manipulate a branch, my editor tab (Chrome or Brave) begins to balloon, and then it inevitably crashes. Any tips and tricks?
Unfortunately it happens to me too.. very often (about every 10 minutes). But from what I understand it’s just my problem.. since I use arc it’s a little better.. chrome I just couldn’t work more than 5 minutes in a row..
Which types of plans do your apps have? Any of them dedicated?
The one that always crashes is a dedicated one and I suspect it has something to do with that.
No, I’m on a starter at the moment. And none of the apps are on a dedicated cluster. But I only have the problem with an app. The others the editor goes that is a wonder (the app in question was duplicated from another to have a starting base, I suspect this is it).
Memory management is a huge problem with bubble. I had to upgrade my system from 16GB to 32GB for the sole purpose of working with bubble. Even with 32GB, I still have to occasionally restart my browser because bubble eventually eats all 32GB of memory. I wouldn’t recommend working on larger apps with less than 16GB of ram.
When you put everything, such as elements, front-end workflows, floating groups, popups, and every other component, on a single page (like a dashboard), it makes the tab size very large and can slow down your app.
Here are a few tips to optimize your Bubble editor and app performance:
- Use reusable elements – This helps reduce the page size and keeps things organized.
- Create events on the page – So you can reuse them across different workflows instead of duplicating logic.
- Use reusable workflows – If you have the same workflow on multiple pages, move it into a reusable element and trigger it when needed.
Whats up with all these people that copy the op content in chat gpt and paste the answer here?
FWIW, there’s a known memory leak on the Design tab of the editor. It was addressed, but not fully resolved, by the Bubble team. @rjayaddimalik gave some helpful tips.
