Bubble pricing - number of developers

Why is Bubble so stingy in its pricing structure about adding developers? Bubble makes more money when its customers have developed an app that’s making money and getting the traffic that needs a higher tier. Having a couple of developers instead of only one would help get there faster. But Bubble’s pricing structure is so stingy with adding developers that they actually cripple development efforts. This has been a problem for me from the beginning and the reason I’m seriously considering switching platforms. I can’t yet afford to pay 4x more to add one more developer or 12x more to add a third developer.

Personally, I think they should charge per seat – or add additional seats for a monthly fee.

That would scale better all right. If I have low volume but need another developer, I could pay a monthly charge specifically for the extra seat.

@jfranzlien Yeah. That’s frustrating. :pensive:

However, as an agency, if you add me or another one of my developers, it doesn’t cost toward your developer count. One of the perks of working with an agency. :blush:

That means your developers are just in-house? Or maybe you are hiring smaller freelancers who aren’t agencies?

My business, Idea Miners is a supportive community for early stage startups. Given the difficulty of going it alone, we’re always looking to add community knowledge and capabilities. So, what I’m thinking is we could form a co-op of Bubble developers (agency) which would serve the needs of Idea Miners itself and our members. That should qualify as an agency in which each developer would pay $70 per month which is better pricing and features than they would get on their own. Does that sound like a feasible idea? What are the requirements to qualify as a Bubble agency?

You just pay for the agency plan, that’s all.
