Confused About Bubble Starter Plan Usage: WUs vs Credits (32k/100k Credits Used?)

Hi Bubble Community :waving_hand:,

I’m currently using the Bubble Starter Plan, which includes a limit of 175k Workload Units (WUs) per month. In my usage panel, it shows that I’ve used 6.4 of 175k WUs so far this month — which makes sense.

However, I also see another usage metric below that:
“32k of 100k credits used” — and I’m not sure what this refers to.
I have a few doubts:

  • What exactly are these “credits”?
  • How are credits different from WUs?
  • Why do I have a limit of 100k credits, and how am I already using 32k of them when I’ve barely used 6.4 WUs?

I’ve attached a screenshot below for better clarity.
Can someone please help me understand how these two limits work and what they affect?

Thanks in advance for your help!

@ademiguel - * Why am I seeing this “credits used” section for the first time this month? I haven’t seen it before in previous months.Earlier, I noticed that both the Dev and Live versions were consuming WUs from the same 175k limit. But now I’m seeing this separate credit usage — so I’m wondering, has Bubble made any recent changes? Specifically, is it now the case that Development has a separate 100k WU limit, while Live still uses the 175k WU limit?

If my development credits reach the limit (100k/100k), can I still use WUs from the 175k Live allocation in the development version?"

Yes, you’ll automatically start to consume regular WUs when you run out of WU credits.

They seem to have been around us for a while. I haven’t found the official announcement for this, but look at this post from Jun 2023

You might have been working with a legacy plan till Oct 2024 (WU agnostic) and you just happened to notice this. It also happened to me.

Okay Thanks
