Hi everyone,
Is there a plugin that can convert a word document to text but preserves the document formatting, including tables and charts? I’ve been trying to use Cloudmersive but I get a huge wall of text and loses the doc styles.
Any ideas, anyone?
How it is going to preserve charts and tables if it is going to convert to text? What are you trying to do?
If you are trying to just display a word document, you can embed it in MS Office Viewer.
@hergin Thanks for your response.
I’m developing a proposal writing platform. I have created two templates, but I want to add a third option, where users are able to upload their own templates, which could either be in Word (not sure about PDF). Most proposal templates have tables and charts and stuff like that, so I want the document to retain its formatting and be editable. A user will then use AI to generate answers and complete the application. Then export it back to Word or PDF (I’m good with this last part).
I am guessing you have a specific style/format in your templates for charts and tables. Whatever doc convertor you use, you should be able to specify converting tables into your formats. I dont know if you convertor has this option but even if it has, it would be tricky I guess.
Hi Andrias,
Would it be an option to use a plugin like {Client-Side Word Template} Plugin | Bubble?
You add certain tags in a Word template, for example {sales_persion}. You upload the template. When the user presses a button, a document is generated based on the template, those tags are replaced by data and the document will be downloaded.
Hope it helps!
If you got budget for this send me a dm. I’d love my team to have a look at it and develop a plugin for your specific use case.
