As a template developer it is frustrating to say the least to find out a template had been refunded without either having prior knowledge of the refund request and the reason for the request, nor the rationale for providing the refund. It is especially troubling when it is so easy for the purchaser to simply copy and paste the entire template into another app, while Bubble still does not have any mechanism to check if the template elements were copied into other apps or not.
When an template is refunded and Bubble simply removes access to the template, but doesn’t check if the template elements were copied over, it feels as if the intellectual property of the template developer is not being properly managed by the marketplace provider.
There should be a simple policy put in place, that is on the marketplace policy statement, also, potentially a popup to remind the purchaser of the refund policy prior to submitting payment. That policy could simply be, No Refunds after 3 days or 7 days. It is rather absurd that template purchases are getting refunded many months after the purchase date.
I believe any rational person with ethical intentions would abide by a refund policy that is stated in the marketplace policy. Without a policy in place it opens the floodgates for theft of intellectual property to be rife on the marketplace.
Additionally, I think it is time to increase the upper price limit of templates. The $500 maximum restricts the type of templates that are available at the detriment to Bubble users who want to purchase templates. It has been this same maximum price for the past 5 years, and with the recent issues around world with inflation, it should be something that Bubble considers in raising the maximum price to be charged for a template.
