Creating a list and thing

Does anybody have any tips on how to troubleshoot an issue I’m facing?

I have customers, that also have a list of sites and within those sites there a lists of equipment. When I’m creating a new customer, I’d also like to be able to create a new site so that they’re linked together and also the equipment but I can’t seem to be able to do that.

I thought I was doing the right thing by setting up the different data types, rather than having them all on the same one, but I can’t seem to be able to link them altogether easily.

First Create the Site, then create the Contact and add the Site to the Contact’s list of Sites.

Then, you probably also want to make changes to the Site and add the Contact to the Site.

Thanks for the quick reply, Adam. How do you ‘add the site’ to the contacts list of sites? I can only seem to do it in the backend and can’t seem to get it working.

The ‘add contacts’ at the top of this page is where I’m attempting to make the reference points. AirConnect

You can do it when creating the contact…

Just use Add or Set on the Site’s field, and select the previously created Site.

I think I get what you mean now. I have added a dropdown so the user can select the site after it is created, but it is showing blank. Any ideas?

Have you set the Option Caption for the dropdown?

It’s empty because I wasn’t sure what it meant or what to put.

The Option Caption is what you want the dropdown to actually display (a ‘text’ value).

If you leave it empty then the dropdown won’t display anything (even though there are clearly 2 options in it).

If I’m understanding correctly you can also create the site in an earlier step of the WF that creates the Contact, then you Add Result of Step that created the site to the site list in Contact in the later step of the same WF.

Thanks, Shane. I think you may be right. I’ll give it a go and see which feels best for what I’m using it for.
