When you add a repeating group if the data source is empty, the repeating group will appear blank without any cell or information.
However, based on this video, it is said that u can display data in repeating group via workflow. ( the video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg0NLKBBTgE )
I literally do the same but it does not appear anything. Did I do something wrong?
Hi there, @cherrypham171… can you show a screenshot of the repeating group in the editor? Have you added the fields you want to display to the repeating group?
Best…
Mike
Hi Mike
Thank for your reach. I did add screenshot in the main post. I paste the photo here again:
I created the workflow when button All is clicked, it will display data in the display list . For the data source, it supposes to search for a field in my database, where I have data inside.
Kind regards
Yup, I saw that screenshot in your original post. I was asking for a screenshot of the repeating group itself (in the editor), not the workflow that populates the repeating group. I understand you have data in the database, but do you have fields in your repeating group to display the data?
Yes, that’s what I meant. It looks like something is wrong with the fields in your repeating group. Each one of them should show as Current cell's whatever
… not sure why those fields are showing “Type here…”. How did you add those fields to the repeating group?
Also, in the workflow for the All button, what are the constraints on the Search for Tourists customers
? Is it possible that the search is not returning any data?
Hi. Yes thank for your help. I did check the constraints on the Search for Tourists and find the problem, I selected the create by = current user, it obviously wont work because in preview version there is no user.
Btw can you help me to figure something else? I want to make the same repeating group, when the existing page is loaded by clicking button A and button B in another page, will show different kinds of data but comes from the same data source. U can see in the photo, the first action : " page is loaded and get cancel service …" seems right, but when I actually click button A, it linked to this page but the repeating group is bland. Do I need to edit state of the repeating group or something? and how can I do that ?
So, you click a button on one page, the workflow passes a parameter in the URL to a second page, you grab the parameter from the URL when the second page loads, and if the parameter has a specific value, you display a certain list in the repeating group… is all of that correct? If so, here are some questions that come to mind… are you passing the parameter correctly in the URL? Does the parameter show up in the URL when you land on the second page? Are you getting the parameter from the URL correctly? Are the constraints on the repeating group’s data source configured correctly?
Hi
This photo shows the first page: When the button “cancel service” is clicked, it will send parameter “key = cancel service = chosen”:
In the second page, the workflow : when page is loaded and get cancel service from papge URL is chosen" is supposed to trigger the action “display list in repeating group”, which has data source: search for tourist customer ( there is no constraint and it should work cause the same action was used in the first example of this post )
You can see in the URL of this page: there “cancel service = chosen”
I think I see the issue… in the URL in the last screenshot, the two %20’s after the word service means that you put two spaces after that word when you set up the parameter. My guess is that when you are getting the parameter from the URL, you did not include those spaces, so the system views the parameter you are sending and the parameter you are getting as two different things.
I could be way off there, but no harm in checking that out.
Best…
Mike
