Dropdown default value not displaying

I was having a tough time, trying to fix the default value of a dropdown and had to work around it
Today I found this post, which explained whats to be done to fix the default value, (most of the time, a type TEXT will do the trick)

Your issue is that the dropdown’s type of value is NOT a court code. Maybe you should fix that. If you want it to be of type 1st_court, then make the default of that type.
