Duplicate app without risk for original?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to make some “crazy testing” (including changing domain name…) on my app.

Creating a copy sounds like being the best option.

Am I sure, for example, that copied Database will only be copied (and not linked or something) ?

May I break everything in the copy, than go back to the original app, and see everything is ok ?

Thank you !

Michel

Hi there, @michelduprez… I wouldn’t be able to guarantee there aren’t one or more obscure links from a copy to the original app (although, I would be shocked if that is the case), but not long ago, I did exactly what you have described, and I saw no effect on the original app by messing with the copy. And for what it’s worth, I broke the heck out of the copy. Hope this helps.

Best…
Mike

Hi, this is probably a very dumb question… but when you copy an app, does it also copy the plan the app is on? So, if an app is on a paid plan and you copy it, do you now have 2 paid plans, or does the copy become a free plan?

Hi there, @ed727… definitely not a dumb question… the copy will be on the Hobby plan, regardless of the original app’s plan.

Awesome, thank you.

Just to chime in here too. I am relatively new to Bubble and duplicated my first prototype app to play around with the responsiveness. It allowed me to duplicate the database I had created. Therefore it shouldn’t affect any original data you have.

Best,

Liam
