I hadn’t realised people were using browser plugins to hack a better interface.
I guess the dev console would be a good way to hack the UI too, but it’s not permanent. Do you know of a way people are using it to make UI hacks more permanent from page refresh to page refresh?
See this thread here for some tweaks to the new WF editor UI:
I haven’t tried it myself as I feel lucky I don’t have to work on my app at the moment. So, I haven’t tested the result myself. I hope Bubble will revert course. Particularly make the WF actions left to right again and massively improve the clarity of text, background, contrast, and use of space.
First actual QoL improvement I’ve noticed is Edit Workflow in an element now takes you to the appropriate folder instead of the massive “All Workflows View” which was useless. (I’ve always used folders.)
Exactly my thoughts, and not just the fact that people are resorting to it, but how quickly they are putting them together and releasing them…the speed and breadth of it is definitely telling of how it is being perceived as a problem that costs money in lost productivity.
I finally had time to fix the workflow editor for myself.
Now, I can work almost the same as before, except for that I have to click one more time to select the event type, instead of visually scanning the order of events and remembering where is each workflow trigger
It needs more testing because it’s great on my 14" Macbook but the office 27" screen is likely going to be introduce unpredicted stuff and I wanted to make it universal.
While we get used to this @kate.mcnally – can we get a show all option for the workflows?
Uncategorized kinda helps but for large apps that need to be organized with the new system, it’ll feel closer to the original method to use the grid + show all workflows to navigate.
TLDR; feature request - show all workflows on the side panel, og sort method
cc: @fede.bubble this may help some of us who preferred the old layout
I’ve watched the BubbleCon 24 presentation and if that awesome shit is truly what you’re cooking and what this is ABSOLUTELY NEEDED for, then I can learn to live with this painful experience – but the one, one thing that is really, really hindering productivity is the fact that conditions do not completely show regardless of grid view/enabling the setting. Like this:
It’s impossible to see the whole condition unless you hover, but this takes a shit ton more time than before where you could just see all of it. I don’t mind how ugly it looks but can we please be able to see the whole condition all at once? In the spirit of more UX changes:
When I right-click on the start of a workflow, can I also see the “Delete/replace etc.” options there too? Instead of having to go to the left-hand side and having to right click the same workflow there. Sure it’s a few seconds but it’s an extra few seconds we didn’t waste before.
Can actions not show at all when hovering and instead only show when I click on the category, sorta like before? It’s just annoying UX wise with them fading in/out constantly.
Those are really the only immediate things hindering productivity for most people right now, I’d argue. Also, thanks for that expand all option, hopefully some other UX things can get addressed soon.
Yes. Figure out how to display the full condition so you don’t have to hover over a workflow. Right now it is truncated and they all start pretty much the same
