Every single time I add an element to the page, I am forced to go through the same identical steps:
- Change from Fixed layout to Column or Row (if it’s not a text element)
- Uncheck “Fixed width”
- Uncheck “Fixed height”
- Remove min width
- Remove min height
It adds so much extra work for what seems to be no reason at all. These default settings seem to stem from a pre-responsive world, and I can’t imagine any good reason to make users go through this monotony every single time they place an element.
Is there a way around this that I’m unaware of? Has the Bubble team given any thought to changing this? (Or possibly even allowing Layout settings to be applied to saved styles?)
I can’t agree more with you. Vote for that!
Also, we need dynamic orders for elements.

wierd, me it used to do that, but now when i add a group its usually the same as the parent group and fixed width and height are unchecked and there is no min or max width/height
make sure you are fully updated and on the current version of bubble.

You sure you’re not talking about duplicating elements? My workflow is to click on the Visual Element I want in the sidebar, and then click into a parent element on the page where I want to place it. The element does not inherit the parent’s layout traits in any case I’ve tried. And I’m on the latest version of Bubble.
Where can I vote for this?
maybe when i make a new group it comes in fixed. but i know for sure they fixed the default formatting when i group elements together. that used to be annoying where it would save the reletive space it was taking up as “minimum width” and id have to delete it each time.
i dont typically make groups on their own, im usually grouping elements together to get the desired layout.
In my case, I normally use styles to pre-define my group styles which helps me a lot to save time.
But styles don’t affect Layout.
Oh, I see. Yes, that method works for me too. I just typically build things from the outside first, rather than building all the internals and then putting them into containers.
ill just make one big collum group, and then when i want certain things to go horrizontally ill group them up into a row group.
